An Insight Into Working From Home As a WIM Apprentice
Updated: Sep 19, 2022
With the recent end to COVID-19 restrictions - there has been a big debate in regards to the future of working from home (WFH). Some companies are looking to go back to office full time, others are staying with full WFH or hybrid working where possible.

An Insight Into WFH As A WIM Apprentice
Here at Walk-in Media, we are adopting the hybrid model following a pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Today I’ll be discussing the benefits of working from the office and why it’s my preferred environement to work in.
While working from home has many benefits such as flexibility and being in the comfort of your own space, there are some things that you can’t replicate from the office while at home. As an apprentice, whenever I have a quick question to ask, I like the option of just being able to get up and talk to someone who can help.
Additionally, the office allows you to establish working relationships with your co-workers which when working from home fully, can be much more limited. Getting to know those you work with may ultimately lead to a better quality of work.
At Walk-In Media, collaborative working is a something we do daily. This way of working is most efficient when in the office and helps us to be less static and ultimately more productive. Finally, workspaces are better optimised for work than say a desk within your living room or bedroom. This, as a result, allows for better productivity and less distractions.
I hope this helped provide an insight as to why working in an office may be better in the long-run. Although WFH does have its benefits, that’s the beauty of a hybrid model which we have at WIM as you get the best of both worlds!
